- The Weeknd teases 'Open Hearts' immersive music experience
The journey to The Weeknd ’s album arrival continues with the announcement of an immersive music experience titled “Open Hearts” arriving ahead of Hurry Up Tomorrow , the forthcoming conclusion to his trilogy. Listen to The Weeknd Radio and more on the free Audacy app In collaboration with Apple, the project, set to debut on Friday, November 15, will be available exclusively via Apple’s Vision Pro augmented reality headset and in select Apple stores. Apple describes it’s Immersive Video Experience as “a remarkable storytelling format that leverages 3D video recorded in 8K with a 180-degree field of view and Spatial Audio to transport viewers to the center of the action.” Teasing what's to come, the “Open Hearts” announcement arrived with a 39-second trailer that begins with an ambulance speeding down a tunneled street followed by various scenes of The Weeknd looking worried, a mirrored sunset cityscape, a never-ending rural road, galloping horses, the XO founder opening double doors to a bright light, and an ominous hooded figures about to reveal his face. “Journey alongside The Weeknd through a surreal, haunting cityscape in this electrifying sonic voyage,” the teaser’s description hints. Thus far, The Weeknd has revealed the title of his next album, debuted the album’s cover, and released three of the album’s singles — “Dancing in the Flames,” “Timeless” with Playboi Carti , and “São Paulo” featuring Anitta . The multi-faceted artist is also working on a film, with the same title as his upcoming LP, set to hit theaters in 2025 -- a psychological thriller the singer is set to star in alongside Barry Keoghan and Jenna Ortega , with Daniel Lopatin helming the project’s score. As to whether "Open Hearts" will be accompanied by new music or material that fans have yet to year, that remains to be known. Whether it is or not, it seems the only thing we’re still waiting eagerly waiting on is the album’s arrival date, and of course for the album itself to drop. Check out the “Open Hearts” trailer below.

The director behind the Equalizer trilogy, Emancipation, and SouthPaw, told audiences that the film is in the early stages of editing. “Why I wanted to make it is, Michael,” the filmmaker said, “Michael was a big part of my life growing up, big influence on my career, an incredible artist — but he was a human being, and we’re exploring that. I’m very excited about it.”
- Mariah Carey on not being in the Rock Hall of Fame: 'My lawyer got in before me'
Mariah Carey is letting it be known how she feels about her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame snub. After being nominated, but not landing a spot in the 2024 induction class, the 55-year-old has no problems letting everyone know how she feels about it. Listen to Mariah Carey Radio and more on the free Audacy app “My thoughts are, I didn’t get in. Everybody was calling me, going, ‘I think you’re getting in!’ and so I was excited about it,” she said when asked about her nomination by the Los Angeles Times . “But then it didn’t happen. My lawyer got into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame before me.” While her comments might sound sarcastic — her lawyer, Allen Grubman — a co-founder of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — actually did get inducted in 2022. As mentioned above, Carey fell short after finally becoming a nominee this year. That comes after eight years of eligibility following the start of her career in the 1980s, numerous albums, hits, and more.
- Beyoncé as 'Purple Rain' Prince is the Halloween sendoff we needed
After dressing up as Betty Davis in a plunging zebra-striped bodysuit for her Halloween costume appetizer. Beyoncé absolutely ate, transforming from one icon into another, paying homage to Prince ’s Purple Rain . Listen to Beyoncé Radio and more on the free Audacy app Looking like a clone of late artist Prince on his classic Purple Rain cover, Beyoncé went all out in a perfectly coiffed wig, ruffled white key-hole blouse, tiny purple hot-pants, thigh-high purple boots, and a long purple fitted trench, complete with a statement collar and furry edgings while holding his iconic purple guitar. And Bey didn’t stop there — to complete the costume she also channeled Apollonia , the actress and musician who starred opposite Prince in the 1984 Rock musical, sporting a black lacy bodysuit, long-talked blazer, and purple boots in most of the pics, except for a cheeky (hands perfectly placed) topless one. "PURPLE NASTY 💜," Bey captioned her post, sharing all the snaps on Instagram, a day after Halloween on November 1. For her former costume, Beyoncé wrote “BETTY DAVIS IN MY BONES 🎸,” alongside a series of snaps that undeniably captured the essence and looks of the late singer and former wife of Miles Davis . Not one to make a move without meaning, Beyoncé’s Halloween tributes have fans convinced that beyond festive tradition, her costumes are direct context clues about the theme of her next album. Speculating it must mean a rock album might be in the works. If true, the Rock-inspired record would be the third installment to round out Bey’s already announced three-act project, which includes 2022’s Disco and House-infused album Renaissance , and 2024's country-influenced album Cowboy Carter . "Cmon act iii😍," one follower commented, while another added, "Oh you clowning this year!!! I see what ACT III is!!,” and a third chimed in, "Never beating the Act III Rock Allegations.” While, as of right now, all album chatter is just speculation, Beyonce’s Halloween tributes are the real deal. Check out Bey’s costume triumphs above.

- Shonda Rhimes reflects on Atlanta's 'When We All Vote' rally and the importance of early voting
Just two days after Michelle Obama 's 'When We All Vote' rally in Atlanta, Shonda Rhimes joined V-103's The Big Tigger Morning Show to discuss the event and early voting. LISTEN NOW: Shonda Rhimes discusses the importance of early voting “It was incredible,” Shonda says of this week’s event. “The amount of students that were there, the amount of young people that were there, the energy that was there. Mrs. Obama gave an amazing speech to everybody and really riled up the crowd. We had a drum line… It was great because I think what it really did was encourage people to use their voice by voting.” Touching on the importance of the current race, Rhimes believes this is “probably the most consequential election of our lifetime. But I think, more importantly, the things that are being decided, the issues that are on the line are issues that are going to affect people for generations to come. The idea that reproductive choice or the choices you make with your body might be taken away," she says. "The idea that they've already gotten rid of Affirmative Action. They've already gotten rid of the Voting Rights Act. There's all these things that, if we have the right people in office, we can bring them back. We can also move forward.” “I don't think that you need celebrities to influence the masses,” Shonda says of this week’s rally, however, she adds, “I think you need celebrities to sometimes bring people into the conversation. There are people who might not have shown up if we didn't have Kerry Washington there last night. So, to me, it feels important because if it's gonna make more people engage in the conversation, or hear the message, then I think it matters.” “I don't think that celebrities’ personal messages should be the issue,” she adds. “I think the campaign issue should be voiced, and I think that encouraging people to vote is something everybody can do.” Looking back on her first voting experience, Shonda says “I was very excited. I think Bill Clinton was running for President at the time and I remember feeling nervous, like I didn't know what to do once I got in the booth. But of course, when you get in there, it's really easy. And then when you come out -- I felt excited, and I felt like an adult, and I felt like I was part of our country.” “I still feel the same way,” Shonda admits. “The only difference is that I my daughters with me to the polling place.” Listen to the full chat with Shonda Rhimes above, and stay tuned for more conversations with your favorite stars and artists right here on Audacy.
- Janelle Monáe on early voting and 'what's at stake' in the 2024 Presidential Election
With only two days left of early voting for the 2024 Presidential Election, Janelle Monáe called in to chat with Audacy Atlanta V-103’s The Big Tigger Morning Show , to discuss how “stressed” she’s been about it, but how thankful she is to be able to share her thoughts. LISTEN NOW: V-103's Big Tigger Morning Show: Janelle Monáe A Georgia voter, Janelle shared how she “early voted with my mom last week,” and emphasized that she is “here to remind everybody that November 1st is the last day to early vote.” Noting, “I think you should get ahead of people if you can.” To that Tigger added, he was “happy to say over 3 million people early voted in Georgia,” already. Remarking on how incredible that is, Janelle added, “let’s keep spreading the word,” and made a point to note, “I’m also here to talk to anybody who's undecided about this election and remind them what's at stake.” Monáe went on to share her stance, saying, “Imagine being Black, being queer, being a woman, who is fearful, being under the Donald Trump administration. Imagine waking up and he's president and how your rights will be revoked.” Adding, “we’re already seeing it, when we think about reproductive rights,” using Amber Thurman as an example. “I grew up for working class parents,” Janelle went on to share, “my mom was a janitor, My dad was a trash man." In Monáe’s opinion, “Trump is only out for billionaires, he's only supporting and giving tax cuts to the billionaires. He does not care about Black and Brown poor people at all. But Kamala Harris and Tim Walz do, and I want to talk about why I'm voting for them.” Mentioning she identifies as non-binary, Janelle expressed, “I want to protect my reproductive rights. I wanna protect all women's reproductive rights. And that's what Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will be doing.” Janelle continued, “They’re gonna be restoring the protections of Roe v. Wade. So women, people, can get the proper reproductive health care they need in every state.” Monáe also brought up the topic of voter protection, sharing her personal insights on how both candidates handle the matter. “Our vote is our power, that is our voice,” she went on to declare. “We got two days, today and tomorrow, to early vote,” adding, “if you don't make it by Friday, November 1st, Election Day is November 5th, we need you to pull up and we need to bring somebody with you,” Janelle implored. After all the serious election talk, the morning show crew lightened the mood, chatting with Janelle about new music, and how she's the Queen of Halloween. To catch the entire conversation and hear what else Janelle had to say about the election, listen to the interview above.
