Put it like that.” Additionally, during his chat, André shared how he feels about his major GRAMMY nom, admitting, “I’m just happy to get paid attention to. The awards are nice because you know at that point more people get to listen and pay attention to what you’re doing, so more than anything, that’s what I love about it.” André also talked about his upcoming musical endeavors during a recent podcast interview with Touré , and while he remained just as vague during his sit down with Wayno about the type of music he has in the works, he did say, “At this point, I’m just trying to keep the momentum. There’s such a thing as creative momentum,” when asked if he had something new in the works during the November 10th episode. “The next stuff is very interesting, too. We’re almost a third — or halfway — into it. … I don’t know when it will be ready. Who knows.” The former Outkast member also revealed to Touré that he currently has a solo deal with his label Epic, however his flute album allegedly didn’t count toward his contracted obligations because it’s not a Rap album. That being said, don’t get your hopes up about André’s next project making the cut either. “Nah, I don’t have a rap album, none of that kinda s***, so I’m not stressed about it,” the former Outkast assured. “I wish it would count. It’s interesting news that artists should hear, that this new album is not counting.”

  • Jennifer Hudson says 'Tis the season with new holiday album, 'The Gift of Love'

Talking with the youngest female EGOT winner in history, Jennifer Hudson , Audacy's 94.7 The Wave host Maggie McKay had the superstar vocalist, actress, and talk-show host on to fill her in all about her new holiday album, upcoming concert, and more. LISTEN NOW: Jennifer Hudson discusses new holiday album, upcoming concert, and more. Hard to believe, but Jennifer ’s latest musical release, The Gift of Love , which came out October 18, is her first time dabbling in the holiday album arena. When asked why now was the right time to use her magical voice to spread some holiday cheer, Hudson simply put it, “Why not now?” “You know, I love the holidays and it's been a part of my family traditions,” she continued, “obviously singing carols and having holiday parties when people come together. And it's something I want to share with the world, to add to everyone else's holiday traditions. I hope that this holiday album is a part of everyone's holiday tradition moving forward.” “That's why it's called The Gift Of Love ,” Jennifer went on to note, “because what better gift to give than music, because that's my favorite thing, you know?” With its 16-song tracklist of Christmas Classics and a few originals, Jennifer feels “like there's a gift under the tree for everybody. Whatever song you pick… that’s my gift to you.” Speaking of the tracklist, Jennifer also shared how she went about choosing which ones to include, noting that “the toughest part,” and “probably what has taken me the longest to do a holiday album… because I love them all.” Hudson went on to share how each selection are “all very personal to me in some way.” For example “Carol Of The Bells,” Jennifer shared, “I used to sing that in high school, ensemble style. So I wanted to be able to display that and sing those songs. “Holy Night,” also easily made the list as it’s admittedly Jennifer’s “favorite holiday song hands down,” while the also present “Hallelujah” is her “favorite song to sing.” Talking original tracks, Jennifer admitted, “I love ‘Santa for Someone,” sharing that to her the song feels “like it's from different perspectives… We got the shoppers… the parents… those that are looking for gifts, and trying to get everything perfectly done in time for the holidays. That's what ‘Santa for Someone’ comes from because it's like we go crazy trying to get the right gift for everybody… And I was like, there's no song for that.” “‘Go Tell It on the Mountain,’ that’s for the mourners… and the church goers too, Jennifer shared. “I grew up in the church, so when I think of church Christmas, we used to sing, ‘Go Tell It on the Mountain.’ But then what about those who have lost loved ones and are not looking forward to going through the holiday season? Where is the song for them? So I blend that together.” Additionally, The Gift of Love also gifts us with a couple of collaborations, one from GRAMMY award-winner Common , who also happens to be Hudson’s boyfriend . Jennifer also chatted about her upcoming performance at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, on December 18th , where she’ll be singing tracks from her holiday album, which she’s very excited about. Calling the upcoming show a “dream,” Hudson said, “I cannot wait to get out there,” and to have “people come out with their loved ones…to create… new family, holiday, memories and traditions, that’s what I wanna do with this album.” Jennifer also discussed being a mega mentor on NBC’s The Voice , holiday traditions, motherhood, and more. To catch it all, listen to the entire interview above.

The film will trace the life of the complex musician, including his public and private struggles. Starring Jaafar Jackson , the nephew of the late icon, in the title role, “'Michael' will bring audiences a riveting and honest portrayal of the brilliant yet complicated man who became the King of Pop,” per the film’s synopsis. “The film presents his triumphs and tragedies on an epic, cinematic scale — from his human side and personal struggles to his undeniable creative genius, exemplified by his most iconic performances. • Mariah Carey on not being in the Rock Hall of Fame: 'My lawyer got in before me'

Mariah Carey is letting it be known how she feels about her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame snub. After being nominated, but not landing a spot in the 2024 induction class, the 55-year-old has no problems letting everyone know how she feels about it. Listen to  Mariah Carey Radio  and more on the free Audacy app  “My thoughts are, I didn’t get in. Everybody was calling me, going, ‘I think you’re getting in!’ and so I was excited about it,” she said when asked about her nomination by the Los Angeles Times . “But then it didn’t happen. My lawyer got into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame before me.” While her comments might sound sarcastic — her lawyer, Allen Grubman — a co-founder of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — actually did get inducted in 2022. As mentioned above, Carey fell short after finally becoming a nominee this year. That comes after eight years of eligibility following the start of her career in the 1980s, numerous albums, hits, and more.

  • Beyoncé as 'Purple Rain' Prince is the Halloween sendoff we needed

After dressing up as Betty Davis  in a plunging zebra-striped bodysuit for her Halloween costume appetizer. Beyoncé absolutely ate, transforming from one icon into another, paying homage to Prince ’s Purple Rain . Listen to  Beyoncé Radio  and more on the free Audacy app Looking like a clone of late artist Prince on his classic  Purple Rain cover, Beyoncé went all out in a perfectly coiffed wig, ruffled white key-hole blouse, tiny purple hot-pants, thigh-high purple boots, and a long purple fitted trench, complete with a statement collar and furry edgings while holding his iconic purple guitar. And Bey didn’t stop there — to complete the costume she also channeled Apollonia , the actress and musician who starred opposite Prince in the 1984 Rock musical, sporting a black lacy bodysuit, long-talked blazer, and purple boots in most of the pics, except for a cheeky (hands perfectly placed) topless one. "PURPLE NASTY 💜," Bey captioned her post, sharing all the snaps on Instagram, a day after Halloween on November 1. For her former costume, Beyoncé wrote “BETTY DAVIS IN MY BONES 🎸,” alongside a series of snaps that undeniably captured the essence and looks of the late singer and former wife of Miles Davis . Not one to make a move without meaning, Beyoncé’s Halloween tributes have fans convinced that beyond festive tradition, her costumes are direct context clues about the theme of her next album. Speculating it must mean a rock album might be in the works. If true, the Rock-inspired record would be the third installment to round out Bey’s already announced three-act project, which includes 2022’s Disco and House-infused album  Renaissance , and 2024's country-influenced album  Cowboy Carter . "Cmon act iii😍," one follower commented, while another added, "Oh you clowning this year!!! I see what ACT III is!!,” and a third chimed in, "Never beating the Act III Rock Allegations.” While, as of right now, all album chatter is just speculation, Beyonce’s Halloween tributes are the real deal. Check out Bey’s costume triumphs above.
