During a recent interview with Wayno at Camp Flog Gnaw, Three Stacks revealed what his “vision board” looked like heading into the new year. “New music, for sure,” he relayed, “new ways to distribute and and express.” André went on to note, “I don’t wanna pinpoint what it is,” however did say, “but I just wanna express more. Put it like that.”
Additionally, during his chat, André shared how he feels about his major GRAMMY nom, admitting, “I’m just happy to get paid attention to. The awards are nice because you know at that point more people get to listen and pay attention to what you’re doing, so more than anything, that’s what I love about it.”
André also talked about his upcoming musical endeavors during a recent podcast interview with Touré, and while he remained just as vague during his sit down with Wayno about the type of music he has in the works, he did say, “At this point, I’m just trying to keep the momentum. There’s such a thing as creative momentum,” when asked if he had something new in the works during the November 10th episode. “The next stuff is very interesting, too. We’re almost a third — or halfway — into it. … I don’t know when it will be ready. Who knows.”
The former Outkast member also revealed to Touré that he currently has a solo deal with his label Epic, however his flute album allegedly didn’t count toward his contracted obligations because it’s not a Rap album.
That being said, don’t get your hopes up about André’s next project making the cut either. “Nah, I don’t have a rap album, none of that kinda s***, so I’m not stressed about it,” the former Outkast assured. “I wish it would count. It’s interesting news that artists should hear, that this new album is not counting.”
