After dressing up as Betty Davis in a plunging zebra-striped bodysuit for her Halloween costume appetizer. Beyoncé absolutely ate, transforming from one icon into another, paying homage to Prince’s Purple Rain.

Looking like a clone of late artist Prince on his classic Purple Rain cover, Beyoncé went all out in a perfectly coiffed wig, ruffled white key-hole blouse, tiny purple hot-pants, thigh-high purple boots, and a long purple fitted trench, complete with a statement collar and furry edgings while holding his iconic purple guitar.
And Bey didn’t stop there — to complete the costume she also channeled Apollonia, the actress and musician who starred opposite Prince in the 1984 Rock musical, sporting a black lacy bodysuit, long-talked blazer, and purple boots in most of the pics, except for a cheeky (hands perfectly placed) topless one.
"PURPLE NASTY 💜," Bey captioned her post, sharing all the snaps on Instagram, a day after Halloween on November 1.
For her former costume, Beyoncé wrote “BETTY DAVIS IN MY BONES 🎸,” alongside a series of snaps that undeniably captured the essence and looks of the late singer and former wife of Miles Davis.
Not one to make a move without meaning, Beyoncé’s Halloween tributes have fans convinced that beyond festive tradition, her costumes are direct context clues about the theme of her next album. Speculating it must mean a rock album might be in the works.
If true, the Rock-inspired record would be the third installment to round out Bey’s already announced three-act project, which includes 2022’s Disco and House-infused
album Renaissance, and 2024's country-influenced album Cowboy Carter. "Cmon act iii😍," one follower commented, while another added, "Oh you clowning this year!!! I see what ACT III is!!,” and a third chimed in, "Never beating the Act III Rock Allegations.”
While, as of right now, all album chatter is just speculation, Beyonce’s Halloween tributes are the real deal. Check out Bey’s costume triumphs above.
