  • Drake and PartyNextDoor announce new album for 'when it gets a little chilly'

What rap battle woes? Drake ’s clearly been keeping his head down and staying busy, recently making a surprise appearance at PartyNextDoor ’s Toronto concert to share the exciting news that the duo have a collab album headed our way. Listen to  Drake Radio  and more on the free Audacy app While, like we said, it was PartyNextDoor ’s concert, Drake took control of the stage for nearly an entire hour at the end of his show. After PartyNextDoor finished his set packed with R&B hit after hit, and slow-burning deep cuts, the stage set was changed over, and the lights came back on, to reveal Drake standing in front of the microphone instead of him. “I’m here tonight as a thank you to each and every one of you for all your years of unwavering support,” Drizzy expressed to his hometown crowd. After performing a setlist of solely R&B songs, including 2015’s “Sweeterman,” his remix of Mississauga artist RamRiddlz , as well as his Snowd4y collab, the Plain White T ’s patois-laden cover “Wah Gwan Delilah,” live for the first time. https://x.com/ComplexMusic/status/1819584535149138004?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1819584535149138004%7Ctwgr%5Eabc7f982158942ba4ad84346df5571fbf8fed17e%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.audacy.com%2Fnational%2Fmusic%2Fdrake-and-partynextdoor-announce-new-album Then throwing it back with “Practice” from  Take Care, “Connect” from  Nothing Was the Same , plus “Finesse,” “Pipe Down,” and “Redemption,” and more, including the PND hit “Come and See Me,” Drake concluded with announcing his plans to team up with the first signee to his OVO Sound label. “On behalf of me and Party, we’ve been working on something for y’all,” Drake said to the crowd. “So, you get the summer over with, do what you need to do. I know all you girls are outside. When it gets a little chilly, PartyNextDoor and Drake album will be waiting right there for you.” Check out Drake’s announcement below

  • Nick Cannon on Lupus, and managing it in his everyday life: 'You can keep all those flare ups away'

During a recent chat with Audacy Atlanta V-103’s Danie B , Nick Cannon opened up about his struggles with Lupus, detailing his experience with the illness and how he manages to live with it in his everyday life. LISTEN NOW: Danie B Interview With Nick Cannon Cannon was helping out the Social Butterflies Foundation at V-103’s Summer School Volume 1 day party, with the aim of raising $3000 for the organization that helps Lupus warriors with anything from getting fitted for wigs, to getting access to medication and more. Being such a vocal public figure when it comes to Lupus, Danie B expressed her delight to be chatting with Nick , noting “it really means a lot that you took the time to stop and educate us a little bit today.” “It sounds like it's a beautiful event that's going down this weekend, so I commend it and salute everybody that's involved with it,” Nick expressed. Before going on to elaborate on the disease, and his personal struggles with it. “Lupus is an autoimmune condition that I was diagnosed with in 2012. It could attack any part of your body, it’s where your immune system is a little out of whack. Mine specifically, it goes for my kidneys and sometimes my skin. But I know other people, it can go to their heart.” Nick went on to reveal, “it actually affected my heart when I first got it in 2012 and I had like pulmonary embolisms that got real serious. So it's one of those things that you can definitely live with, but it also can be something that can be quite serious.” Cannon continued to elaborate, pointing out that while some “people don’t notice” a person struggling with Lupus, it can be “difficult to get out of bed,” due to suffering from “inflammation and… fatigue.” “So, you just gotta look out for those Lupus warriors and really give them some strong prayers and support because you never know what they're going through.” Staying booked and busy, Nick proves his point, that Lupus is a disease one can live with. From his various business endeavors, to Wild N Out and hosting The Masked Singer , Cannon talked about how staying busy helps. "That’s how I fight my lupus… I just stay busy. I mean, once I can get out that bed, I see it as a blessing. I'm gonna get the most out of today because I remember those days where it wasn't even a possibility for me to get out. And sometimes those days happen, you know, every once in a while, but it keeps my health in check.” Another “thing about lupus,” Nick added, “is that you gotta make sure you're eating right. You gotta make sure you're staying hydrated. You gotta make sure you're doing everything that the doctors or the holistic individuals that are helping you out are telling you, because if you stick to a regiment, you can keep all those flare ups away.” For Nick, it’s important to continuously shine a light on Lupus, so Lupus warriors out there feel like they're not alone, as helps others understand about what this disease is. Speaking to the importance of being vocal, Nick said, “It definitely affects our community specifically... a lot of cases with Black women. So we want to continue to create the awareness so we can find a cure. And just send some love and support to all my fellow lupus warriors out there.” To hear it all, listen to the entire conversation above.

  • Snoop Dogg on carrying the torch in Paris, his Olympics run-in with Simone Biles' mom, and more

Currently busy being the main character of the 2024 Paris Olympics, other than all the incredible athletes of course, Snoop Dogg called in to catch up with Audacy Atlanta’s The Big Tigger Morning Show . As one of NBC's Special Correspondents at this years games, Snoop talked all about the experience thus far, his so-called "beef" with Simone Biles ’ mom, and more. LISTEN NOW: V-103's The Big Tigger Morning Show: Snoop Dogg After some smooth talking following his intro, Snoop filled the morning show crew in on how it felt carrying the Olympics gold torch, which his obviously had to match his gold Snoop Dogg Sketchers. “I felt like Muhammad Ali… because what I was taught was anytime you were able to be in a position like that you should be representing peace and love. When they handed me the torch, the lady explained to me that anybody who’s ever touched the torch is a peace messenger for the world. So I felt real honored to be recognized like that coming from America, from Long Beach and so many big people they could’ve had to do it. To mention me and say, ‘We want you to do it,’ that made me feel good.” Photo credit Stephane De Sakutin - Pool/Getty Images These days, it seems Snoop has his hand in just about everything, and that’s because he does. When asked how he goes about remaining relevant, Snoop said, “I try to stay true to who I am. Anything and everything that I do… has to be fun to do and has to make funds — F U N D S.”' This year, Snoop has expanded his commentator roll , having previously teamed up with Kevin Hart for the now viral Olympic Highlights review. Talking about his past commentating experiences, Snoop shared, “I’ve been doing it with basketball, boxing…just having fun doing what I do. And I see that they’re actually recognizing that I’m skilled at what I do and that they’re giving me an opportunity to show that skill and to bring something different to the table. I appreciate NBC and the whole Olympic team for giving the opportunity to shine.” As for those silly none serious rumors Snoop and Simone Biles ’ mom have some “beef,” Snoop suggested to drop it like it’s hot, quipping “no, no, no, no, no.” “What had happened was,” Snoop began to explain, “I go to meet her and didn’t know I had met her already. She reminds me, she said, ‘In 2010 we were in New York and asked you for a picture, and you said ‘y’all have two seconds,’ you took the picture and then you left.’ But she showed me the picture, with her, young Simone and all of em’ and it was just beautiful I actually stopped to take a picture with them and for her to show me that’s who she became… it was just a beautiful situation to say I was never too big to run past, even if it was two seconds as long as I did it, that’s all that matters.” Also talking a bit about his experience in Paris thus far, Snoop said, “When I first got here, it was nice and warm, and all of a sudden the night of the ceremony it just started raining… raining hard. Then it got beautiful again, but the rain was beautiful as well, because I’m from California so I like the rain. But overall the people, the hospitality, the security, the way it’s safe. The way countries are mingling with people, it’s just, this is what the world is supposed to look like, all these different countries, races, ethnicities, and everybody getting along.” To close out the conversation, Tigger mentioned to Snoop that some are saying the torch reminded them of something else he would normally have in his hand. Clearly not oblivious, but deciding to act as such, Snoop perfectly responded, “Hmmm… What would that be?” Listen to the entire conversation above.

  • Rihanna would rather match 'shoes to my panties' than worry about abs

Photo credit Robert Kamau/GC Images via Getty Images The ultimate trendsetter has spoken. In a rather cheeky post, Rihanna jokingly revealed that for this summer she’s opting to switch her goals from a six pack, “to matching my shoes to my panties.” Listen to  Rihanna Radio  and more on the free Audacy app Showing off her edgy school girl summer ensemble and matching undergarments, Rihanna pranced around the streets of New York rocking a pleated Miu Miu miniskirt, a messily tucked in oversized blue button-up, while modeling her new Fenty x Puma collab, a black pair of Creeper Phatty In Session sneakers. Peeking out from underneath her loosely buttoned shirt was a black Savage X Fenty lace bra. “since I clearly wont be achieving my six pack til next summer, I switched my summer goal to matching my shoes to my panties! 🤷🏿‍♀️,” Rihanna captioned the video. Suggesting her shoes matched her black underwear, which she cheekily flashed for the camera. RiRi, sporting a honey blonde mullet with side bangs, completed her look with large-rimmed gold aviator glasses, gold layered necklaces, a mini Louis Vuitton Speedy bag, and white crew socks. The superstar’s latest look channels her fall Fenty x Puma campaign. Shot by Philippa Price , Rihanna served as the campaign’s creative director. Giving back-to-school baddie, RiRi displayed her latest creepers renditions with help from The Addams Family actress Anjelica Huston and Euphoria ’s Chloe Cherry . “Your whole school will be wearing the Creeper Phatty’s and this campaign plays with that vision,” Rihanna said in a statement. “We chose these colors and material very purposefully for back-to-school. The black-on-black corduroy reminds me of my very own childhood, a uniform approved shoe with the twist I always wish I had.”

  • The Weeknd is ready to complete the trilogy as he teases his next chapter of music

' Photo credit Getty Images When you gaze long enough into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you' After previously hinting his next album and final installment of a trilogy would be headed our way sometime in the near future, The Weeknd has kicked off the rollout to the last chapter with an eerie new teaser trailer. Listen to   The Weeknd Radio   and more on the free Audacy app The world has been introduced to the yet-to-be-titled follow up to 2020’s After Hours and 2022’s Dawn FM with a video and the following caption — “When you gaze long enough into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you…” The teaser, which features an “Epilepsy Warning Needed” notice, starts off with frantic flashes that phase into a bright space-like looking cloud that an animation of a young child is reaching towards. From there, as the perspective shifts to emulate the feeling of falling, the same child is seen gripping a mask of a woman’s face, as ominous figures are seen in the red-lit background as lightning flashes. The camera pans once again to show the boy in a running motion, but frozen still, surrounded by reaching hands. The visual continues to revolve to expose a mirrored illusion underneath water, revealing the hands belong to a stack of red caped individuals. Above the water, as the view continues to rotate, we see some type of alter and shadowy figure, followed by a trio of Abel with brightly lit eyes, and a massive staircase that reaches into the clouds. While the entire video’s backing track flows together seamlessly, according to Rolling Stone , “two separate unreleased songs from The Weekend set the scene for the trippy graphics.” On the first he singes, “I tried my best to not let you go / I don’t like the view from halfway down / Just promise me that it won’t be so / Will I feel the end? Backed up the ground / I tried to be something that I’ll never be / Why waste another precious hour?/ Why waste another precious hour?/ I’d rather leave somewhat of a legacy / Familiar, I thought that’s so familiar.” Which means the second track, a previously previewed demo that his fans have been referring to as “Hold Your Heart,” kicks in around the underwater mirrored image bit. The Weknd originally teased the track in March 2020 on Instagram Live, as part of a batch of songs that didn’t make it onto  After Hours . “Just hold my heart, real close to you / Remember how it always beats for you / I’m falling at the speed of light / I’m staring at your shrinking face, don’t cry / You know my heart belongs,” he sings before the track abruptly cuts off. Check out the teaser below.

  • The final Childish Gambino album has arrived: Inside 'Bando Stone and the New World'

Donald Glover has officially released  Bando Stone and the New World , a soundtrack to his upcoming movie of the same name, and his sixth and final album under the Childish Gambino moniker. Listen to Audacy All New and more on the free Audacy app Back in April,  Glover   revealed  plans to release two more Childish Gambino albums before retiring the alias. The first being  Atavista , the self-described “finished version” of  3.15.20 , put out four years ago, and  Bando Stone and the New World  being the second. “It’s a big goodbye album,” Glover told Zane Lowe during a recent interview about the 17-track LP that includes collaborations with Amaarae , Jorja Smith , Chlöe , his son Legend , and more. “The soundtrack forces the audience to participate in a way that I don’t feel like most things force you to participate. It forces you to have an imagination,” Donald told Zane. “All of that stuff allows you to have to participate, which a lot of stuff doesn’t ask you to do, which is why I think a lot of stuff feels flat.” Before the album’s arrival, Glover dropped a trailer for the project’s corresponding film, though an official release date has yet to announced. Additionally, as part of the final hoorah for his Childish Gambino era, Donald will be hitting the road later this summer for his previously announced  New World Tour . The international tour kicks off on August 11 in North America, before heading to Europe, and Oceania, bringing WILLOW , and Amara along for the ride as openers on select dates. Check out the entire Bando Stone and the New World  tracklist, and listen to the album below. 1. Hearts Were Meant to Fly (feat. Amaarae) 2. Lithonia 3. Survive (feat. Chlöe) 4. Steps Beach 5.
