- The Cast of 'The Deliverance' on the 'soulful thriller' that helped Lee Daniels find his 'higher power'
Joining Audacy Atlanta V-103’s The Big Tigger Morning Show with Jazzy McBee to discuss their new Netflix movie The Deliverance , Director Lee Daniels along with Andra Day and Caleb McLaughlin , chatted all about the inspiration and message behind the film, and more. LISTEN NOW: V-103's Big Tigger Morning Show - Cast of Netflix's 'The Deliverance' Chopping it up with “the director of this particular situation,” Daniels as well as two of its stars, Andra and Caleb , ahead of its August 30 arrival, Tigger had some questions about the “very scary” movie. “It's based on true events, but I switched it up a little bit,” Daniels revealed, “just because I believe that spirits both good and bad come on you… So I just changed her mom in the film to white, because I wanted to explore what a biracial girl goes through having a white mom.” Admitting he had reservations about even making the movie, “because I didn't want the spirits on me.” Daniel’s added, “but I realized that we are in dark times right now.” And after sitting with the movie for more than 10 years (since he did Precious ), it was finally the time to do it. “I didn't do it then because I thought that… it was horror only," Daniel’s noted, “and now I realize it was time to do it because it was about me finding my higher power, me finding the light. And and so I got the courage to do it.” Taking inspiration from an Indy Star story from 2011, about a woman named LaToya Ammons who claimed her children had become possessed by a demonic spirit, Jazzy made note that in the film, Lee related it to “something that we all kind of deal with… demons internally and externally.” “I'm glad you picked up on that,” Andra expressed, “because I think that was a big point for him,” she said about the director. “It’s definitely based off a true story, it’s based off true events, it’s based off of her real experience and the possession with the kids, those things were real… But it's not just a horror film. In my opinion, he's almost created an entirely new genre. A faith-based thriller… a soulful thriller.” Yes, “there are horror elements to it, but it's also a family drama,” Andra continued. Noting that she makes sure to tell people, “If you just think it’s horror, and you don’t do horror, I think you would be remiss to not see the film, because there's transformation… generational healing. Ebony, my character is trying to heal a lot of trauma in her life and be the best mother she can be to her kids, and there's a spiritual aspect to it as well. As Lee always says, his goal with this film was to scare you to your higher power.” To hear how they got into character, the extremes of dealing with a movie about a demon, and more, listen to the entire conversation above. The Deliverance also stars Glenn Close , Mo’Nique , Octavia Spenser , Omar Epps , and more. Watch the trailer below.

After a slight delay due to a neck injury, Usher ’s career-spanning retrospective Past Present Future tour is officially underway, kicking off in Washington, D.C. Listen to The Vibe Radio and more on the free Audacy app Given its name and Usher ’s legendary showmanship the evening was jam-packed a plethora of trademark moves and countless hits from across his decades-long discography. Compiling tracks from his underrated self-titled debut, all the way up to his latest album, Coming Home , Usher’s entire career was represented on the setlist. Unsurprisingly, Usher’s best-performing album to date Confessions takes the lead with the most songs on the list, from “Bad Girl,” “Burn,” “Caught Up,” “My Boo,” “Superstar,” and of course, the title song throughout the set. Obviously “Yeah!” also made the cut, actually making two appearances during the show, with a 30-second teaser early in the set, and once again at the end for a blowout, encore performance. 2010’s Raymond v. Raymond is the second-most represented, with “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)” opening the show, plus “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love,” “OMG,” and “There Goes My Baby” sprinkled throughout the rest of the setlist. Check out the entire Past Present Future Tour setlist below. 1. “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)” 2. “Can U Get Wit It” 3. “My Way” 4. “You Make Me Wanna…” 5. “U Remind Me” 6. “U Don’t Have To Call” 7. “Caught Up” 8. “Yeah!” 9. “Love In This Club” 10. “Tell Me” 11. “New Flame” 12. “Margiela” 13. “Party” 14. “Lovers And Friends” 15. “Nice And Slow” 16. “U Got It Bad” 17. “Climax” 18. “Burn” 19. “Confessions Part II” 20. “OMG” 21. “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” 22. “Without You” 23. “Superstar” 24. “There Goes My Gaby” 25. “My Boo” 26. “I Don’t Mind” 27. “Throwback” 28. “Bad Girl” 29. “Good Kisser” 30. “Ruin Me” 31. “Seduction” 32. “Good Good” 33. “Yeah!”
- Beyoncé now has her own whisky and we're already 'Drunk in Love'
Beyoncé has officially added another money making product to her ever growing empire. And it isn’t “like, like liquor—like, like, like liquor,” because that’s exactly what it is. SirDavis , a Japanese-style inspired whisky — and it’s top shelf. Listen to Beyoncé Radio and more on the free Audacy app Between Beyoncé ’s rebirth into becoming a brand, plus her many lyrical references and double entendres of downing spirits, this latest move seemed particularly inevitable. And unlike a lot of other celeb spirits brands, which often can feel as though they came in at the tail end and just slapped their famous name on the bottle, Beyonce’s SirDavis is not only a first-of-its-kind joint venture between Bey and Moët Hennessy, it’s a long time coming collaboration with Beyoncé Knowles-Carter’s fingerprints all over it —starting with the name itself. ears in the making, Beyoncé, a longtime fan of Japanese whiskies, contacted Moët Hennessy with the desire to craft a trailblazing whisky with a unique flavor profile that mirrored her own palate. As it turns out, Moët Hennessy had been exploring ways to deepen its presence in the American whisky market. “Beyoncé has always felt a calling to whisky, which she expressed in the first meeting with us to develop SirDavis,” Cameron George , global head of advocacy and blender for SirDavis recalled during a media preview in July at Moët Hennessy’s offices in New York City, about meeting at Beyoncé’s home in Los Angeles two years ago. “Whisky is in her DNA. She used the word ‘kismet.’” The name in honor of Beyoncé’s great-grandfather, Davis Hogue , a moonshiner during prohibition. Sharing more details about the moniker’s namesake, George relayed, when Knowles-Carter’s father visited his grandfather at the distillery, it was the first time he heard a black man referred to as “Sir.” Standing apart not only for it’s recipe, taste and quality, SirDavis noticeably differs from many whiskey bottles on the market that are typically short and stout. Tall with rounded fluted edges and rose gold hue, SirDavis resembles more of a statue or a vase. “There was intentionality in building the bottle and the packaging,” George said. “There was this beautiful thing Beyoncé said to us, describing her own tension between femininity and masculinity, asking herself why can’t she be both?” This tension plays into the design of the SirDavis bottle shape. And then there is the very notable spelling choice — using “whisky” rather than “whiskey,” unlike what most American-made brands do, compared to Scotch and Japanese counterparts. “I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whisky and wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling,” Beyoncé expressed about her latest venture. “When I discovered that my great-grandfather had been a moonshine man, it felt like my love for whisky was fated. SirDavis is a way for me to pay homage to him, uniting us through a new shared legacy. In partnering with Moët Hennessy, we have crafted a delicious American whisky that respects tradition but also empowers people to experience something new and unique in the category. You can taste it better than I could ever tell you — welcome, SirDavis.”
- Usher forced to reschedule several shows because of neck injury
Hours before he was set to take the stage for the opening night of his Past Present Future Tour in his hometown of Atlanta, Usher announced that he’d need to postpone several shows due to a neck injury. Listen to The Vibe Radio and more on the free Audacy app In his initial, now deleted statement revealing the unfortunate news, Usher expressed how the injury he suffered has caused him to postpone the August 14th show, saying: "For my 30-plus year career, 100% of my blood, sweat and tears has gone into putting on the best performance and creating a memorable experience for my fans. I have every intention of doing that for this tour as well which is why I have to postpone tonight's show and reschedule it for a later date to give my body a second to rest and heal.” He continued, “You’re still going to get a bit of the past, some of the present and a unique look into the future on the rescheduled date but you’ll also be getting 100% of me. The last thing I want to ever do is disappoint you, the fans who have been eagerly waiting for this tour to start. However, I wouldn’t be the entertainer that I am if I can’t physically give you my best. My team will be sharing news of the rescheduled date soon. I can’t wait to celebrate this legacy with you.” Just a few hours after that, Usher followed up with another statement regarding his injury, and that despite his best efforts he’d need to additionally postpone the second and third Atlanta shows scheduled this weekend. Sharing that all three dates will be made up on in December. Meaning that the Past Present Future Tour will effectively kick off in Washington, D.C. on August 20, if all goes well with Usher’s recovery. Read Usher’s statement below: “Earlier this week, I suffered an injury to my neck while rehearsing to provide my fans with the greatest USHER show of all time.” “My hope was that with physical therapy and medical treatment, I would be able to overcome the injury and be ready for opening night. Unfortunately, the injury has not healed yet, and my doctors have instructed me not to perform any shows this week. The good news is that the doctors are saying that with appropriate rest and treatment, I should be ready to commence the tour in Washington DC on August 20th.” “I love my fans and thank you for understanding that this injury must be healed so that I can give you the 100% excellence that you expect from an USHER show and that I will be on Wage in your city very soon.” “The Atlanta dates have already been rescheduled at State Farm Arena as follows: August 14 will be rescheduled for December 9. August 16 will be rescheduled for December 10. August 17 will be rescheduled for December 12.”
- Coco Jones on her VMA nom, 'Bel-Air,' and brand new single 'Sweep It Up'
Coco Jones called in to chat with Audacy Atlanta V-103’s Big Tigger , to talk all about her first VMA nomination, Bel-Air , her brand new single “Sweep It Up,” and more. LISTEN NOW: The Big Tigger Morning Show — Coco Jones “It's so so exciting,” Coco expressed about her VMA nom. “I mean… I cannot believe how different my life is now and how much more recognition I've gotten. I'm so grateful for it.” Listing off her accolades, which in addition to her latest nomination, includes a GRAMMY award, a BET Award, and singing her “face off at the BET Awards during the Usher tribute,” Tigger asked Jones, what the latter was like. “That was so cool to be a part of. I think it was really refreshing to see BET uplift, of course, Usher, the talented. But also to give all of us R&B girls, and Latto — give us all a different way of shining our light but in a cohesive manner.” Talking about working with Disney again on a reimagined track for The Princess and the Frog , Coco shared, “It was really exciting to get to work with Disney again. They were the first company to really see something in me and give me that opportunity to do my thing.” “And I love Princess Tiana,” she continued. “I mean, Black Princess, of course the representation, but also her storyline is really awesome. And being able to like make it modern, and maybe reintroduce her in a different way or introduce her to girls who listen to me and maybe haven't listened to a Princess Tiana song, it’s really cool to do.” “That's a big thing that I like to do is, you know, pay homage to the classics, whether it's classic R&B, A classic Princess, and put my spin on things,” added Coco, who also puts her own spin on the character of Hilary Banks on The Fresh Price re-imagined series Bel-Air . With so much recent success, Tigger asked Coco outright, “Are you where you thought you'd be?” "That is a great question,” she answered, saying, “It depends on what year of thought because my brain and my expectations changed all the time. I would say my nine-year-old self would say I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be and if not, she'd be like you need to do more.” “But me, the young adult, I think I am where I'm supposed to be because I learned so much about myself through the peaks and valleys, that I don't think I would have had enough of an identity had I not been through my journey.” Sharing what the hardest part of that journey has been, Jones expressed, “the hardest part is loving what you do,” Even when, “not having the recognition, not having the attention, not having the support.” Another hard part, Coco added, “is not having the right team, because the right team can help you learn to pace yourself and appreciate the time that it takes to really make or break.” These days Coco can check all of those boxes — loving what she does, check. Having recognition, check. Surrounded by a good team, check. All of which applies as her role as Hillary Banks on Bel-Air is officially back for Season 3. “I think this is the first job where I felt like comfortable,” Jones said of the Peacock series. “I think of course, at the beginning when I first got the job, I was like, please don't change your mind. But as I've gotten to really learn who Hillary has been for other girls. And learn how my team, and how my production with Bel-Air how they see Hillary through me. I've really gotten comfortable in feeling like I deserve this job and this opportunity and it leaves me with this feeling of freedom to be able to not hold back and to not overthink and to really give my best work.” As for balancing both being an actress and a singer, Coco admitted, “honestly, the strike was the first time where I was able to shift acting completely off and just do music. My whole journey as an artist I've been an actress and a singer. So it's always been both things simultaneously.” “So, yeah, I think life helps me to balance it out and then, everything comes in seasons like you can't film a show the entire year. You know, you can't do music the entire year, there’s always windows.” But if she had to choose one over the other, Coco said, “I’m gonna go with music.” Speaking of music, to close out their conversation, Coco told Tigger all about her new song, “Sweep It Up,” officially out everywhere today. “I feel like I've gotten so much recognition and love for my voice and for those soulful, powerful songs. But there's different elements of me that I want to introduce to the world. And so ‘Sweep It Up’ is a different side of me, that is very me… The side of me that talks her s***, who's really confident, and who wants to dance and have fun and be carefree,” Coco said of the brand new track. “You know, not everything is heartbreak and not everything is heavy. Some stuff is just light and simple, so ‘Sweep It Up’ for me is a different version of Coco that I'm excited for the world to hear.” Coco also went on to talk about her random thoughts, the importance of voting, tease that she’s finalizing her album and going on tour, plus more. To catch it all listen to the entire interview above.
- MC Lyte is leaning on love, and a higher power, in her mental health journey
Hip Hop pioneer MC Lyte joined us amid the release of brand new music after a lengthy break and shared with us what she has found helpful in managing her mental health both personally and professionally. LISTEN NOW: MC Lyte is leaning on love, and a higher power, in her mental health journey “It's so interesting that now we have -- and have had before but never used it to the fullest as we do now -- the term ‘mental health,’" she explains. “Before it was just ‘OK, something's not right,’ or ‘I feel overwhelmed,’ or ‘I feel consumed…’ We use these other words, not really understanding that it all fit under the realm of mental health and what does it mean to feel at ease?” Which, in essence, is what we all truly want, MC Lyte continues, “To feel like everything is in a flow -- and life doesn't work that way. There's ebbs and flows, there's bumps in the roads, things of that nature. So for me, what I do first off is, I have a higher source, you know. God is who I look to in times that are good and bad.” “It's great to have this career,” she says. “I'm showing the highlight moments that this is great, but there are also other points where it's like, ‘OK, I'm unclear.’ The certainty that I'd love to have isn't there, and then I just got to lean on Him. Like, ‘God, you know what? I've done all that I can do to get it up to this point. You showed me the vision, now you make the provision because this is the only way that I know how.” “For me, it's about taking that time to breathe, to relax, to do something that's not work-related, whether it's reading or just going out in nature. I think it’s really important -- self-care -- for what it is, not only that I do as an occupation, but I'm sure all of us -- it can get stressful.” Host DJ Scratch from 94.7 The Block in NYC agrees adding, “I never used the words ‘mental health’ until the pandemic started and that was the first time I actually recognized it. Just me as being a Black man in America, we're taught to just deal with it quietly, don't shed a tear, just man up, deal with it. And during the pandemic… we never seen anything like that before. Our humanity was on trial and you just seen so many different things going on… like people needed Clorox, and Clorox was going for $75 a bottle. It was crazy. Everything that was going on with the presidency at the time… the police, everything that was going on at the time, that's when I really recognized what mental health really was and what I was dealing with.” Keeping open conversations around mental health “should be one of the priorities within our communities. We gather up for town halls about other things, I think this is just as important,” Lyte says. “Along with that, also being able to have younger people get together for an open, candid conversation between young men and young women because sometimes we're all speaking different languages, so to speak. I think even that could help us as a community.” Scratch, still in touch with many of the same friends from childhood says what they used to do when they were young was hold bi-annual “therapy” sessions having honest and open conversations about what they didn’t like about each other. “Nobody had an issue,” he says. “Sometimes people did, and we fix it. We were basically doing our own therapy sessions back then as kids… but what I did notice that growing up as an adult, everybody doesn't do that. Everybody holds stuff in, so I would seem like I'm aggressive when if I see somebody have a problem, but I'm like, ‘No, this is just how we used to do.’ You have to approach people differently when there's an issue with stuff like that.” “Most people are taught to hold what it is they feel,” Lyte agrees. “One, it doesn't matter… that's what people believe, like what they have to offer doesn't matter and then therefore they begin to believe what others have to offer doesn't matter. But I think anything can be had with love -- if you're delivering a message that you may not like, whatever that thing is, if it's done in a careful way -- with care, and not just to break someone down, which a lot of people do.” Listen to DJ Scratch’s full conversation with MC Lyte above, and stay tuned for more mental health conversations on Audacy’s I’m Listening . - Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry talk 'The Union': Secrets, second chances, and more
Discussing their new Netflix movie The Union , longtime friends Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg sat down with some of Audacy’s finest on-air talent including New York's NEW 102.7 and Philadelphia's The New 96.5's Mike Adam , nationally syndicated host Julia , KROQ’s Ally Johnson , Poet from WPGC 95.5 in Washington DC, and Jayn from Audacy San Francisco and Portland. LISTEN NOW: Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry on 'The Union' No spoilers, but just for context — The Union follows Mike ( Mark Wahlberg ), a down-to-earth construction worker from Jersey, who is quickly thrust into the world of super spies and secret agents when his high school sweetheart Roxanne ( Halle Berry ) recruits him on a high-stakes US intelligence mission. Chatting all about the new project with its main stars, Ally wondered how their IRL friendship translated into a perfect pair of bickering exes, for their first time together on screen. “I think there was so much bickering and bantering between the two characters. It was like they really kind of picked up right where they left off,” Mark said. “That 25 year gap of them not being together… she knows how to pick and poke and get you going.” “That was the great thing about the relationship too,” he continued, “So much great chemistry there that I think… that's what makes it different and kind of elevates the movie to all these kind of other movies that you've seen.” “And my character stayed eternally mad that he didn't leave back in high school," Halle added. “She comes back with the chip on her shoulder. She's mad that he didn't do what he should have done, which you know, grow some balls and leave town and he didn't do it… and I think that was a fun through line to carry through our work.” Already looking towards the future, Mark noted, “We were talking about the sequel earlier, and she's still talking about how long she's gonna make Mike wait.” Treading lightly on the subject, Berry said, “We should be so lucky, but if it does well enough and we get asked to do one, I think we already have plans for it. We've thought about it.” Keeping his line of questioning on theme with the movie’s plot, Mike asked Mark and Halle, when it comes to keeping secrets, would either “be able to be a part of this agency” in real life? “I'm not good at keeping secrets," Mark admitted. “But hopefully if people are smart enough to recognize what your strong suits… they’ll put you in that department. As opposed to having to hold some sort of valuable information that is likely gonna get leaked to whoever's around and I'm kind of bored and want to talk about it with.” Halle on the other hand is “a vault,” noting, “I can keep a secret for a very long time.” Talking about their comedic timing and chemistry in the film, Jayn asked if any of the scenes or lines were improvised and if they had to start some takes over because one or both would break. “No,” Halle revealed, “when they were funny, we kept them. And if we laugh, well, that's what our characters would do. I don't think we ruined too many that way.” Looking over at Mark, Halle continued, “you had a lot of good one liners.” Adding, “he was always saving the best line for the end. He always would end the scenes with like the best little buttons.” Apparently Mark had the same sentiments, but for Halle, sharing, “I thought when I said ‘I'm like the Jersey James Bond,’ and then she comes back with, ‘yeah, double-o go f*** you.’ That's stealing the scene.” Pointing out that “one of the dopest things about this movie is this 25 year gap, where you were waiting for this second chance with your sweetheart," Poet asked the co-stars to share about a “time in your life that you're grateful that you got a second chance.” “Well, something that did just dawn on me. With most people, they probably don't want to see somebody after 25 years,” Mark said. Then pointing to Halle to jokingly note how that actually wouldn’t be a concern for her, “you got, no worries right here… nothing’s changed.” “Not true, not true,” Berry countered, before sharing a story about Spike Lee . “I auditioned to play his wife in Jungle Fever, and he gave me another chance to go in the bathroom. I told him 'I can be the crack ho, really, that’s what you should let me audition for.' He goes, ‘no, you're my wife.’ I said, ‘no, I'm the ho let me go wash my makeup off, I’ll show you a different version of me.’ And he gave me a second chance at auditioning for his film. And that ended up being my first movie role, but because he gave me a second chance to do what I really wanted to do.” Sharing that “one of my favorite little pieces of this movie was the end credits of the throwback photos of you guys,” Julia wondered if despite having known each other for a while, was there anything new that they learned about the other while filming together. “She's a mom first,” Mark shared about Halle, “the kids are the top priority. So to see that she can balance all of those things and this career and being Halle Berry, but becoming Roxanne and doing all these things. And I know it's not easy, but she makes it look easy.” Following up with the same high regards for her co-star, Halle expressed, “The same for you… Our first AD would say rolling — if one of his kids called in that moment, we'd be on a roll, waiting to go, and he's like, ‘hello? say hi to everybody.’ Like he's relentless at that, he is very available to his children. He was talking to them all the time, all hours of the night.” Jokingly pointing out how consuming food is seldom seen in these types of fast pace movies, Jayn asked Halle and Mark to share their go-to snack when filming action movies. Which Mike followed up, by asking the parent first actors if the types of roles they take on has changed since having children. - Pras disses Ms. Lauryn Hill in new song after Fugees tour canceled
About a week ago, the Fugees and Lauryn Hill announced they’d once again be canceling the U.S. leg of their co-headlining tour. And now, the drama-filled details behind the decision are starting to surface. Listen to The 90s Radio and more on the free Audacy app Exhibit A - In his new track, “Bar Mitzfa,” not officially released, but somehow obtained by TMZ , Pras takes aim Hill with the following lyrics — “Don’t blame me, blame her, she made the mess / Not another f***ing penny is what I told ‘Clef.” Following the tour cancelation announcement, Hill took to social, to disperse the blame to the media for creating a negative narrative about her and claiming that she loves performing for her fans. “Last year, I faced an injury that necessitated the rescheduling of some of my shows,” she wrote. “Regrettably, some media outlet’s penchant for sensationalism and clickbait headlines have seemingly created a narrative that has affected ticket sales for the North American portion of the tour. The trust and faith I have in my intentions and my commitment to my art seem to have been overshadowed by this unfortunate portrayal.” She continued, “Performing for my fans is a profound exchange of energy and emotion that excites me every time. Every show is a piece of my expression and testament to our connection and shared love of music. I can assure you that no one is more disappointed about not being able to perform than I am.” Also going on to note that the U.K. and Europe dates of the tour are still on. Not limiting his wrath to just lyrics, Pras also seemed to take shots at Hill and her statement, taking to his IG Story. Exhibit B — “Nobody will remember click bait beefs, your salary, how many Gucci bags you owned, bogus excuses,” Pras wrote above a picture of himself performing to a massive crowd. Continuing underneath the image, “People will remember: how you made them feel, if you kept your word, if they could count on you, if you come on time!!” After publicly airing out his thoughts, Pras followed up with another story, which we’ll refer to as Exhibit C — Using a Golden Girls meme to relay his current dilemma. It read, “Me debating if I’m going to let it slide or start something,” above a picture of Bea Arthur ’s Dorothy Zbornak looking rather impatient. A contemplation which he went on to answer with a “100%” sticker below. It’s no secret that Ms. Hill’s live show reputation is less than stellar, due to the many times she’s been late or simply not shown up. So whether or not she is behind the latest tour cancelation, that perception of her is already out there and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. Plus, with the addition of Pras and his pointed lyrics, remarks, and meme usage, it seems we’re definitely in store for some drama with a capital D.
- Dr. Dre is 'serious' about archery and competing in the Los Angeles Olympics
After performing with Snoop Dogg during the LA28 Olympic Games Handover Celebration, closing out the Paris Olympics, Dr. Dre revealed he’s “deadass serious” about competing in the 2028 games, taking place in Los Angeles, California. Listen to Hip-Hop Made: West Coast and more on the free Audacy app During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Dre revealed his thoughts about representing Team USA and “trying to try out for the Olympics in 2028.” As for his sport of choice… that would be Archery. "I actually started playing around with archery in junior high. I stopped for a while, and my son bought me a setup. I have it set up in my backyard and I heard qualifying for the Olympics is 77 feet,” Dre expressed, adding, “I practice at 90. Wouldn't that be interesting?” Interesting indeed, actually kismet, for the West Coast legend who grew up in Compton. While his legacy is cemented as part of West Coast Hip-Hop history, it seems Dre wants to add athletic accolades to his collection. And doing so in LA, would make it that much sweeter. In other Dr. Dre, Olympics related news, during the same interview, the rapper/producer/mogul voiced his thoughts about this year’s breakdancing competition. With 2024 being the first year that breakdancing was featured in the Olympics, most of the dazzling athleticism of b-boys and b-girls from around the world were on full display. However, the sport was overshadowed by the bizarre display from Australia’s Rachael “Raygun” Gunn . “I did not like that. It’s so many great breakdancers that I don’t know why they had this particular person doing that,” Dre said, joining the general consensus that has flooded the internet. He continued, “It was funny, I got some laughs out of it, but what the f***?… There are incredible breakdancers out right now; I don’t know how that happened.” Check out Dre’s entire chat with ET below.
