With only two days left of early voting for the 2024 Presidential Election, Janelle Monáe called in to chat with Audacy Atlanta V-103’s The Big Tigger Morning Show, to discuss how “stressed” she’s been about it, but how thankful she is to be able to share her thoughts.

A Georgia voter, Janelle shared how she “early voted with my mom last week,” and emphasized that she is “here to remind everybody that November 1st is the last day to early vote.” Noting, “I think you should get ahead of people if you can.”
To that Tigger added, he was “happy to say over 3 million people early voted in Georgia,” already.
Remarking on how incredible that is, Janelle added, “let’s keep spreading the word,” and made a point to note, “I’m also here to talk to anybody who's undecided about this election and remind them what's at stake.”
Monáe went on to share her stance, saying, “Imagine being Black, being queer, being a woman, who is fearful, being under the Donald Trump administration. Imagine waking up and he's president and how your rights will be revoked.”
Adding, “we’re already seeing it, when we think about reproductive rights,” using Amber Thurman as an example.
“I grew up for working class parents,” Janelle went on to share, “my mom was a janitor, My dad was a trash man." In Monáe’s opinion, “Trump is only out for billionaires, he's only supporting and giving tax cuts to the billionaires. He does not care about Black and Brown poor people at all. But Kamala Harris and Tim Walz do, and I want to talk about why I'm voting for them.”
Mentioning she identifies as non-binary, Janelle expressed, “I want to protect my reproductive rights. I wanna protect all women's reproductive rights. And that's what Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will be doing.” Janelle continued, “They’re gonna be restoring the protections of Roe v. Wade. So women, people, can get the proper reproductive health care they need in every state.”
Monáe also brought up the topic of voter protection, sharing her personal insights on how both candidates handle the matter.
“Our vote is our power, that is our voice,” she went on to declare. “We got two days, today and tomorrow, to early vote,” adding, “if you don't make it by Friday, November 1st, Election Day is November 5th, we need you to pull up and we need to bring somebody with you,” Janelle implored.
After all the serious election talk, the morning show crew lightened the mood, chatting with Janelle about new music, and how she's the Queen of Halloween. To catch the entire conversation and hear what else Janelle had to say about the election, listen to the interview above.
