The Olympian took the VMAs stage with rapper Flavor Flav to present the award for BEST COLLABORATION and before announcing the winner, Flav took a moment to make sure Chiles got some love.
After calling it an “honor” to stand next to the Olympian, Flav reached in his back pocket and pulled out a blinged out bronze clock resembling the one he is famous for wearing and hung it around Chiles’ neck. The gesture comes weeks after the 23-year-old was stripped of her hard-earned bronze medal after the Summer Olympics in Paris.
Flavor Flav had mentioned recently he wanted to replace Chiles’ medal with a tricked-out clock as he took to X during the height of the Olympic drama telling Chiles, “I gots yo back.”
“USA gonna Fight The Powers that be… but in the meantime between time I gots yo back, [Jordan Chiles]” he wrote on X a few weeks back. “Hit me up.”
Flavor Flav has been an avid supporter of the Olympics and attending athletes this year most notably by sponsoring the USA Women’s Water Polo Team, Helping a Track & Field athlete with rent and now, presenting Chiles with a one-of-a-kind Bronze “medal.”
“Everybody wants to feel like they got their back covered, like somebody has their back, you know what I'm saying?” Flav explained of his next-level support “And when they feel that it makes them feel more powerful, it makes them feel more better.”
Following the medal moment, Flav and Jordan got to present the award for BEST COLLABORATION to Taylor Swift and Post Malone for “Fortnight,” which got Flavor Flav even more hype. Check out the moment below.
